Grip Strip Backer Rod

Grip Strip Backer Rod is a closed-cell polyethylene foam backer rod in a unique, trapezoid shape that compresses for a tight fit to the logs in chinking joints. Since chinking does not adhere to it, Grip Strip serves as a needed “bond breaker” to ensure the desired two-point adhesion of the chinking to the logs on each side of the log joint in order to allow the chinking to expand and contract to its maximum capability with natural log movement.

Grip Strip is able to conform to the shape of your logs without blistering or outgassing. The innovative design of Grip Strip saves you money by decreasing the amount of chinking material needed. Grip Strip repels moisture.  Grip Strip can be used in both exterior and interior log joints. Grip Strip comes in 4 foot lengths.
